Merford Operator cabins for Abu Dhabi Port Company (UAE)

At the very early start of this year Merford Cabins received an order from ZPMC Shanghai to built 6 STS operator cabins for Abu Dhabi Port Company (ADPC).

At the end of 2010 Merford Cabins introduced drivers ergonomics, Ergoseat and more related items to ADPC at their headquarters in Abu Dhabi UAE, shortly followed by a visit of ADPC together with Merford Cabins to a container terminal close in their region, APM Terminals Bahrain.

Mission of this visit was to get more experience and knowledge in the benefits of the Ergoseat, equipped in a Merford STS operator cabin, so they were able to make a good decision about the new home for their operators.

Besides the Ergoseat the new operator cabins for ADPC will be equipped with walkable heated floor windows, integrated heating- demisting filter system, filter unit (carbon, chemical and dust). Mid 2011 the cabins will be delivered to ZPMC in Shanghai China. After the cabins will be installed the cranes and the Merford cabins will be transported to ADPC.

The cranes and the Merford cabins will be part of the new Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone (KPIZ). KPIZ is one of the world’s largest greenfield port and industrial zone development projects, providing infrastructure for the growing industrial and commercial sectors of Abu Dhabi. The Khalifa port will have a total capacity of 15 million TEUs and 35 million tones of other cargo at the end of the five-phase construction in 2030.
