Looking vertically downward while sitting is a tough job. Thousands of container crane operators around the world are working in this position daily.
A wrong sitting position with too much neck-flexion and increased eyeball rotation will cause headache and/or fatigue, neck or back problems.
In co-operation with Joseph Wouters, a Dutch scientist, Merford developed an optical solution to create an optical lens with three segments for different needs. The optical solution angles the view and realises a substantial improvement to the working posture of crane-drivers.
Special filters tuned for three sun-seasons, will reduce glare (e.g. from the water), and optimize colours and contrast.
