Climate control

Temperature control is very important because it has been proven that people perform at their best at 23ºC to 24ºC. It has been demonstrated that lowering or raising the temperature by 5 degrees reduces performance by about 9% (Seppänen et al. 2003). Good temperature control is a must, especially in extreme climates.

Effective control of such factors minimizes health-related risks and improves wellness and efficiency. Especially in extreme climates a good temperature control is a must.

Different options in climate control are available:

  • Ventilation unit in the roof
  • Filter-unit - Heating / de-misting
  • Air-conditioning: window, split-type or roof-top unit
  • Automatic climate control system:

Merford Climate Unit

Merford has designed a new HVAC system, the Merford Climate Unit. HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning – three closely-related fundamental functions that are essential for creating perfect working conditions. The primary use of the Merford Climate Unit is to regulate cabin temperature, humidity and airflow, ensuring that these elements remain within their acceptable ranges. Effective control of such factors minimises health-related risks.

The Merford Climate Unit is a fully-integrated climate control unit, consisting of air-conditioning, heating and fresh air supply. The system is automatically temperature-controlled and equipped with a high-performance demisting function.

Warm air is fed in over the full width of the bottom window at the front of the cabin (in case of Merford Ergocab). Cool air supply is integrated into the front section of the ceiling (even vertical airflow along the front screen). This intelligent system creates a perfect climate inside the cabin.
