In 2010 Merford Cabins delivered two steel mill cabins to Nucor Crawfordsville. In the beginning of 2011 Merford Cabins won the order for two new steel mill cabins. The cabins are to be installed in the steel mill of Nucor Memphis. The order will be handled in co-operation with Merfords partner; Ace World Companies Fort Worth Texas.

To optimize the working environment, the visibility and the ergonomic situation of the crane operator this cabins is specially designed for this order. This refurbishment project requires a design within certain dimensions. To optimize the visibility and the posture of the operator special attention is paid to the construction of the cabin and the position of the seat. Because the operator has to look downward the cabin is equipped with the Merford Ergoseat and an extra high classified bottom window.
